Apple AirPods 3rd Generation Sound Leak and Warranty Refusal
I purchased two Apple AirPods 3rd Generation sets, one for myself and one for my son. Both headphones have had sound leakage issues since day one. My son’s AirPods have been sent for warranty service three times, but the problem reoccurs within a day of being returned. Most recently, the service center claimed that "foreign material" was found inside and quoted a ₺6900 repair fee, which I refused. They returned the AirPods without fixing them.
Similarly, my own AirPods experienced the same issue. When I sent them for service for the first time, I was also told that "foreign material" was found, voiding the warranty. This makes no sense, as these are in-ear devices. When I mentioned this to the representative, they suggested frequent cleaning, which we already do.
The ₺6900 repair fee is unacceptable, and I refused to pay it. Both AirPods are now useless and were returned to me without being repaired. For such an expensive product, I expected far better customer support and reliability. Apple’s lack of accountability is truly disappointing. I urge the company to address these recurring issues and stand behind their product.
