Apple Charged $37 for an Unauthorized Child Subscription
On March 24, 2026, my younger sibling subscribed to an app called “alcatch Premium” through the Apple App Store without my knowledge or authorization, resulting in a $37 charge to my card. The transaction was completed without any child lock or additional confirmation, and as soon as I noticed it, I immediately canceled the subscription on the same day.
I then submitted a refund request through Apple Support. I requested a refund twice for this transaction, order number MV6MB5TKKL, but both requests were denied with the response that the purchase was “not eligible for a refund.” Despite the transaction being made without my authorization and the subscription being canceled immediately, I have not received a refund, which has caused me significant inconvenience.
I request that Apple provide a full refund of the $37 charged to my card as a result of this erroneous purchase made by a young child. I also expect Apple to implement more effective measures to prevent children from accidentally subscribing to similar services in the future. I would also like to state that I intend to file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee regarding this matter.
