Birthday Gift Missing and Amazon Customer Service Woes

I bought a friend's birthday present from Amazon on July 11. It's now July 18, and the package still hasn't come. When I talked to live support, I found out that the product hadn't even been shipped, and there was no explanation. I asked to cancel the order, saying I'd buy it somewhere else, and they said the problem would be fixed in two days. Even though it's been a week, the item still hasn't been shipped, and they say it will take between 48 and 72 hours to cancel the order. This is the only thing I'll ever buy from Amazon. I thought they were a good company, but it turns out they are running a shady business. I'll never buy anything from Amazon again, I swear!
