Amazon Refused to Refund My Recalled Stanley Trigger Action Thermos

On January 4, 2025, I received an email from the Amazon Product Safety Team (n*******@amazon.com.tr) informing me that the Stanley Classic Trigger Action 0.47 L Black thermos, which I purchased from Amazon.com.tr on October 11, 2023, had been recalled by Rappel Conso due to a fire risk. According to Turkish regulations, this product is classified as defective, so I attempted to contact TR Distributor Kutupayısı regarding the issue, as I had not yet had the opportunity to use the product. However, the company did not respond in any way regarding consumer satisfaction. Based on Amazon’s recall notice and their claim that I would not be left at a loss, I returned the product, but I received no information for a long time. Later, I was informed that the refund would be processed based on the product’s price from two years ago. In accordance with the Turkish Code of Obligations and Consumer Protection Law, I stated that I did not accept this outdated refund amount, which is now worth only a fraction of a thermos at today’s exchange rate, but my request was rejected. Although the manufacturer is at fault and the product was officially recalled, consumers are unfairly bearing the consequences. Despite multiple conversations with customer service, I was told that my refund had been processed, yet my bank confirmed that no refund was received. I have been misled and left at a loss for weeks. According to consumer regulations, the product should at least be replaced with an equivalent, yet Amazon has failed to even process the refund for 45 days. I am filing a complaint against Amazon for this issue.
