Setting up Alipay's Tourcard has been a total hassle for me. Whenever I try to use the camera to verify my identity, the app keeps crashing. I tried it on another phone and somehow got all the way through, but my verification still didn’t go through—no idea why. They want a picture of your passport (why can't we just upload a photo like we do on the regular Alipay app?) and even your UK tax number, which feels a bit much. The app is super slow on my phone as well. On top of that, your local bank might end up blocking the purchase, which means you'll have to sort that out while you're on vacation.
