Unreasonable Charges on Alibaba.com Order – Requesting Refund of $2850 Paid
I placed an order worth $600 on Alibaba.com, with an agreed shipping fee of $50, totaling $650. I was assured that no further payments would be required. However, I was subsequently asked to pay $1000 for insurance, which I did, after being promised there would be no further issues. Despite this, I was then asked for an additional $1200 for an import certificate, which I also paid. Now, they are asking for another $1050 for shipping.
This has been a never-ending cycle of demands—each time I was told that no more payments would be needed, only to be asked for more money. I am not buying a car; this is for a $600 product, but the costs have incrementally escalated to $2850, with an additional request for $1050, totaling $3900.
The seller on your platform misled me by not transparently listing all these exorbitant charges upfront during the order process. If I had known about these additional costs, I wouldn’t have proceeded, as my financial situation doesn’t support such expenses. This ordeal has caused significant distress, and I feel deceived by the seller’s lack of transparency.
I urgently request a full refund of the $2850 paid. If this issue isn’t resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action through my lawyer, using the screenshots of our conversations as evidence against both Alibaba.com and the seller. I prefer not to go this route and hope my concerns can be addressed swiftly to rectify my situation. Thank you.
