I Cannot Pay With QR at Ali Baba Store and Left Without Shopping
On the morning of March 24, 2026, around 8:30 AM, I went to the Adana Belediye Evleri branch as usual to do my shopping. I had been regularly using QR payment at this store for a long time. When I reached the checkout, I told the cashier that I wanted to pay using QR. However, the employee informed me that the company had removed QR payments, stating that it was related to religious concerns such as interest and that this payment method was no longer accepted.
Since I did not have a credit card with me, I was forced to leave all my items at the register and could not complete my purchase. This situation caused both a waste of time and inconvenience. It was very disappointing to encounter such a change without any prior notice or communication, especially at a place where I had been using QR payments for years. I understand that the employee was not personally responsible and was simply following company policy, but I was the one who had to deal with the consequences of this decision.
After this experience, I want to clearly state that I will not shop at Ali Baba again. Removing QR payment is unfair to customers. It is difficult to understand how pricing items significantly higher than elsewhere is acceptable, yet using QR payment is considered unacceptable.
