Enterprise/Alamo Charging Extra for Rim Damage After Rental Return—Unfair Fee

I rented a car from Enterprise/Alamo while traveling abroad, and after returning the vehicle, I was unexpectedly charged 1,172 EUR for rim scratches. However, I never noticed or caused any damage.
When I rented the car, I wasn’t informed to check the rims specifically, and now I am being forced to pay for something I might not have done. Shouldn’t rental insurance cover this? This charge feels completely unfair, and I feel taken advantage of as an international customer.
I need Enterprise/Alamo to clarify their policies and explain why this damage isn’t covered by insurance. If you're renting a car abroad, be extra careful with what you’re being charged for! Has anyone else experienced this?
