Ajet Penalized Me for Using My Held Ticket and Ignored Fare Difference I Paid

On October 2, 2024, we purchased a ₺4000 ticket to bring my brother from Diyarbakır to Sabiha Gökçen for a funeral. However, realizing he wouldn’t be able to make it to the airport in time despite all efforts, we put the ticket on hold. Now, we want to use the same ticket for the same route on January 18 with the lowest fare available. Normally, if I were to purchase a new ticket without using the held one, it would cost ₺1750 (although while writing this, the ticket price increased to ₺1799). If I choose to use the held ticket, they charge me a penalty of ₺1590, with approximately ₺600 of this being the fare difference between the two tickets. Yet, I already paid ₺2250 more for the original ticket compared to the current fare. Why am I being penalized? Even when adding the penalty and the cost of the new ticket to the held ticket’s total, it doesn’t match what I originally paid. In fact, I previously paid ₺4000 for the lowest fare class, and now with the penalty and a new ticket at the highest fare class (₺2649), it only equals what I initially spent. Ajet, what are you trying to do? You’ve invented this “ticket class” concept as an excuse to impose a penalty for something I wasn’t informed about or had no control over. If anyone has experienced a similar issue, please reach out to me. I plan to take this to the Consumer Rights Court and will claim my money back with interest. This is unacceptable—there’s a limit to capitalism. You act arbitrarily because you think no one will hold you accountable.

I submitted a complaint to the Consumer Arbitration Committee through the e-Government portal. Let's not just write about what such a problematic company has done, so they can straighten up. After all, the government is a regulatory mechanism, and companies cannot engage in such unjust, unlawful, and arbitrary actions.
