AJet Canceled My Flight Two Hours Before Departure And Ruined My Travel Plans
I had a flight with AJet on March 29, 2026, from Istanbul to Hatay, flight number VF3244. However, only about 2 hours before the flight, at 2:22 PM, I was informed via a simple text message that my flight had been canceled.
Receiving such a late and one-sided cancellation notice for such a critical flight caused me serious inconvenience. I had booked this trip to be present for my mother’s scheduled surgery, and due to this last-minute cancellation, I was unable to travel to Hatay and be with her during the operation.
As I am military personnel and can only take a limited 3-day leave, this situation caused both emotional distress and professional difficulty.
I was forced to request a refund for my ticket, and I was told that the refund would be processed. However, my main grievance is the last-minute cancellation and the fact that I could not be present for my mother’s surgery because of it.
Additionally, I had purchased my return flight through Turkish Airlines. Since I was unable to travel, I had to cancel that ticket as well, and a cancellation fee was deducted. I request that this deducted amount also be reimbursed by AJet as part of my overall damages.
Due to the extremely late notification, the inability to attend my mother’s surgery, and the loss of my limited leave days, I have experienced serious hardship.
I expect an official apology and formal response from AJet regarding this incident. I also request full reimbursement of the cancellation fee deducted from my Turkish Airlines ticket.
