I Couldn't Check Into My Airbnb in Montenegro and Was Only Offered a 20% Refund

During our 7-day Balkan tour, we booked a 2-night Airbnb stay in Montenegro. However, when we arrived at the property at the scheduled time, we found the home to be completely uninhabitable and the host unreachable despite multiple attempts to contact them.

We were left stranded with nowhere to go and had to wait for nearly 6 hours in a nearby café, wasting both time and energy in the middle of our trip. We reached out to Airbnb support repeatedly, only to be told they could refund just 20% of the amount we paid — an amount that was nowhere near enough to cover a new place to stay on such short notice.

We explained the situation multiple times, providing all the details and context, but Airbnb offered no real solution, leaving us stuck and forced to pay out-of-pocket for another last-minute booking.

On top of that, they said the refund — even the 20% — would take 7 to 14 business days, which is completely unacceptable while you're actively traveling and already dealing with unexpected expenses.

I’m requesting a full refund of the ₺ we paid and proper compensation for the disruption and inconvenience. Airbnb should not leave guests vulnerable in foreign countries with unusable listings and no backup. This experience has made me seriously question Airbnb’s reliability.
