Airbnb Refused Refund for Booking Cancelled Within One Hour of Reservation

I accidentally made an Airbnb reservation in Toronto for the dates 25 September–25 October under the code HMTAMMB9AC. I realised my mistake very quickly and cancelled the reservation approximately one hour after booking. I never checked in, never used the property in any way and the stay did not take place, yet Airbnb and the host refused to refund my payment of 242,089.51 TRY, citing the host’s very strict and inflexible cancellation policy. During this period I was in Toronto with my two children, urgently looking for accommodation. In addition, there were indications that the property may have been rebooked after my cancellation, which makes it feel even more unfair that my entire payment was kept for a stay that never happened. Despite explaining the situation repeatedly and submitting appeals, Airbnb closed my case without offering any solution, which has caused serious financial and emotional distress for my family. I request that Airbnb review this situation once again and refund the full amount of 242,089.51 TRY for the reservation HMTAMMB9AC, taking into account that the cancellation was made within about an hour, the accommodation was never used, and that consumer protection and basic fairness should prevail over an excessively rigid cancellation policy.
