Air Albania Served Pork Without Warning and Flew Us on Old, Unbranded Planes

When I booked a Balkan Tour through Jolly Tur, they couldn’t stop praising Air Albania as their airline partner. But our experience during the round-trip flights between Ankara and Tirana (March 29–April 5) was far from what was promised.

First, the aircraft had no Air Albania logo or markings, which raised concerns about its authenticity and safety. The planes were extremely old and uncomfortable, making the journey stressful and unsettling.

What’s worse, they served sandwiches containing pork salami without informing us. This is completely unacceptable, especially considering that most of the passengers were Turkish and many have dietary or religious restrictions. No alternative meal option was offered, and there was zero communication or respect for cultural sensitivity, despite the tour company knowing our preferences.

Both Air Albania and Jolly Tur failed us. The service was beyond disappointing—it felt careless and disrespectful. I strongly condemn how both companies handled this trip and demand accountability. Travelers deserve better.
