Agoda Nonexistent Budapest Residence Booking Ruined Trip - Full Refund Needed
I booked a property called Budapest Residence in Hungary through Agoda.com and paid the full accommodation fee in advance on November 22. I received confirmation and verification emails from Agoda and a reservation number, 600954639. Trusting this confirmed reservation, we planned our international trip, bought round‑trip flight tickets and fully arranged our vacation based on these dates. The accommodation was booked for November 28 to December 2. However, when we went to the address at check‑in time, we discovered that the accommodation shown on Agoda.com simply did not exist. There was no such place at the given address. We tried to find alternative accommodation on the same day, but the places that were available were 20–30 times more expensive than what we had already paid. Because we could not secure new accommodation at the last minute at a reasonable price, we were forced to change our return flights to the same day, paying a penalty, cancel our vacation and immediately return from abroad. This caused us both serious financial damage and emotional stress, as all our plans were ruined due to a non‑existent property being sold on Agoda. We tried to reach Agoda customer service but there was no live customer representative. The chatbot only gave irrelevant answers and closed the conversation without offering any real help or solution. I request a full refund of the amount paid for the accommodation and coverage of the additional costs we had to pay for changing our flights on the same day because we could not stay at the property that did not exist. I expect Agoda to urgently review this case and compensate us for the financial loss and the disruption caused by listing and selling a non‑existent property on their platform.
