YouGov Rewards System Offers Low Pay for Long Online Surveys
I have been participating in surveys on YouGov for several years and have completed approximately 100 surveys during that time. So far, I have only been able to redeem a 120 TRY reward three times. When I compare the time and effort spent, I believe the points and rewards provided by the system are quite low.
In particular, the points awarded per survey are very insufficient. For example, the survey I just completed took more than 15 minutes, the questions were very detailed and exhausting, yet I was given only 50 points in return. That equals approximately $2. Receiving just $2 for such a long and attention-demanding task is discouraging and undervalues the effort involved.
My expectation from YouGov is to create a fairer points and rewards system that is proportional to the length and difficulty of the surveys. I especially request that long and detailed surveys be rewarded with significantly higher points and that users’ efforts be compensated in a realistic manner.
