Aggressive And Disrespectful Behavior By Yemeksepeti Courier

Today at around 13:35 I experienced a very disturbing incident with a courier delivering my order placed via Yemeksepeti to my address in Ümraniye, Istanbul. Since the building I live in is new, the outer and inner door numbers have not yet been mounted, but the courier still managed to find the building and entered directly because the entrance door was open, without pressing any apartment number from downstairs and ringing my bell. There are four flats on each floor and, although he reached the correct floor, he could not find my flat because there were no numbers on the doors. When he finally rang my bell, I immediately opened the entrance door and, noticing that he was already at the door, I quickly opened my own door as well. The moment I opened the door, he started shouting at me in a very disrespectful and aggressive manner because there were no door numbers, came right up to my face and almost everything short of physically hitting me. For about 10 minutes he tried to provoke an argument with phrases such as “Who are you, who do you think you are, because of you I rang everyone’s bell.” I repeatedly explained that I am a tenant and that the building is new so the numbers have not yet been installed, but he continued his disrespectful attitude. The fact that the courier is a foreign national and still provides such disrespectful service to customers in Turkey also disturbed me. When I pointed out that the flat numbers are written on the natural gas meters, he responded in an extremely harsh and aggressive tone saying, “Am I obliged to find it like that.” When I told him that I always open the main door and wait for couriers who ring from downstairs, and that the real mistake was his for not pressing the bell, he replied in a very rude and careless way such as “I’ll ring if I want, if I don’t want I won’t, what’s it to you.” These behaviours as a customer made me feel seriously uncomfortable and caused me to feel unsafe and threatened at my own home. The language, behaviour and style of communication of this courier are absolutely unacceptable. Encountering such a service in my own country has deeply disappointed me. Because of this experience, I am no longer considering ordering from Yemeksepeti and I will be warning people around me not to use the same application by sharing this incident with them. I request that a thorough investigation be carried out regarding the courier associated with the order number #yoae-2618-g1r7 and that the necessary steps be taken so that no customer ever has to experience such behaviour again. In particular, I demand that this courier’s working activity in your system be terminated, that you review your cooperation with foreign-national couriers in terms of training and suitability for customer communication, and that a clear feedback be given to me about the action taken.
