I am filing an urgent complaint regarding an incorrect and excessively high refund deduction applied after the cancellation of an international Saudia flight from Riyadh (RUH) to Manila (MNL). I specifically purchased a Flex Eco (Flexible Economy) ticket because it offered cancellation flexibility and more favorable refund conditions. Despite this, Wingie withheld 498.77 SAR from my refund following a voluntary cancellation.

When I requested a detailed explanation of the cancellation charges, Wingie’s support team refused to provide a tax breakdown, fee schedule, or transaction statement showing how the deduction was calculated. Refusing to provide an itemized explanation of withheld customer funds is inconsistent with basic standards of transparency and fair e-commerce practices. I therefore demand a complete and itemized receipt explaining exactly how the 498.77 SAR deduction was determined.

Transaction Details:

Booking Reference (PNR): 7AQJIK
Route: Riyadh (RUH) – Manila (MNL)
Airline: Saudia
Payment Method: Tamara Split Installments
First Installment Paid: 1,146.28 SAR on May 20
Cancellation Date: May 25
Refund Received: 647.51 SAR
Amount Withheld by Wingie: 498.77 SAR

According to publicly available information regarding Saudia’s international voluntary refund policies for Flex Eco (Guest Flex) fares, cancellation penalties are generally limited and do not appear to justify a deduction as large as 498.77 SAR. Yet Wingie continues to withhold hundreds of riyals without providing a transparent explanation.

Furthermore, my Tamara payment plan currently shows all future installments as “Paid,” creating additional confusion regarding the accounting of the refund. As a result, it appears that funds have been retained without a clear reconciliation of the ticket value, installment payments, and applicable airline penalties.

I request an immediate review of my Tamara payment ledger by a senior finance manager at Wingie. The refund should be recalculated based on the total ticket cost, with only the legitimate airline cancellation penalty deducted. Any remaining balance should be returned to my original payment method without delay.

I specifically purchased a flexible fare category to avoid excessive cancellation costs. Therefore, I do not accept nearly 500 SAR in unexplained deductions, hidden fees, or agency charges. I demand that Wingie recalculate the refund in accordance with Saudia’s official fare rules, cancel any remaining Tamara installment obligations if applicable, and return the remaining balance to my account immediately. I also expect a written explanation and a complete itemized breakdown of every charge and deduction applied to this booking.
