Volvo Sold Me an XC60 With a Warning They Never Fixed

In 2020, I purchased a Volvo XC60 from an authorised Volvo distributor. Shortly after I started using the vehicle, a warning message began to appear continuously, saying, ‘Volvo Call On, Service Required’. When I contacted the service centre, I was informed that an agreement between Turkcell and Volvo had been terminated, which was why the system normally present in Volvo vehicles was not functioning, resulting in the continuous appearance of this warning. I was told that Volvo headquarters would resolve the issue shortly and that the erroneous warning message would be corrected. When I noticed that the issue had not been resolved during a routine service visit, I contacted Volvo Turkey customer service. The same response was provided there as well. After waiting a bit longer, I wanted to file a formal complaint with Volvo customer service. The representative stated that the same response would be provided in response to my complaint and that it would not be processed for that reason. For four years, I was forced to use a vehicle that constantly displayed fault warnings. I had to explain to passengers who rode in my vehicle that it was defective, which caused them curiosity and astonishment. Using a defective vehicle negatively affected my mental health and eroded my trust in the vehicle. Worst of all, I was repeatedly given vague explanations by the official representatives who should have provided support regarding the vehicle. They acknowledged the issue and admitted that the solution was within their control, but they never once contacted me about the matter over the course of five years. Finally, when I decided to sell my vehicle, the buyers stated that they could not purchase it due to the malfunction, which was the final straw. After five years of using the vehicle with the malfunction warning clearly displayed, I have decided to initiate legal proceedings.
