VakıfBank ATM Retained My Deposit and Denied My Refund Request
On November 22, 2024, around 12:55 - 1:00 PM, I deposited money into my account using VakıfBank ATM number 00044B, connected to the Samsun S00044 branch. First, I deposited ₺10,000 without any issues. Then, I attempted to deposit an additional ₺12,000, but after a while, I received a warning stating, "Your money has been retained." I immediately reported the issue at the branch linked to the ATM, VakıfBank Regional Directorate, but they informed me that ATMs are managed by a private company and advised me to contact customer service. I promptly called customer service and filed a report. When I checked my account on November 26, only ₺4,800 had been refunded. I contacted customer service again and created request number 8579808. Later, I noticed that the ATM code was entered incorrectly, so I updated my request after another call. It took me over an hour on the phone to complete these processes. Since I received no updates or refunds for the missing amount after nearly 10 days, I contacted customer service again on December 6, 2024, to check the status of my request. I was shocked when they informed me that my request had been “denied” and no payment would be made. The representative couldn’t provide any justification and only advised me to pursue legal action. I urgently request that the bank address and resolve this issue.
