Uber Driver Increased My Fare After I Left the Taxi
On September 11, 2025, at 9:37 AM, I took a Hyundai Accent ride with a driver named Ö*** from Çağlayan Neighborhood, 306th Street, Mamak, to Kızılırmak Street, No:2 Çankaya. The driver was initially registered at the wrong address, and I directed him to the correct location by phone. At the end of the ride, the taxi meter showed ₺250.40, I wished him a good day, and got out of the vehicle. Later, when I checked my credit card statement and Uber receipt, I saw I had been charged ₺290. I also had a 30% discount on my account, and on previous trips on the same route, I paid ₺175 after the discount. On this trip, however, I was charged ₺203 after the discount. I am filing a complaint because the driver, after I got out of the taxi, deliberately changed the ₺250 fare on the meter to ₺290, resulting in an overcharge. I reported the issue to Uber customer service but received a negative response. I believe I was unfairly charged and demand that the driver who cheated be punished and that the excess amount be refunded.
