Turkcell’s E-SIM Transfer Fee Is Unfair and Anti-Competitive Compared to Rivals

As a long-time Turkcell subscriber, I recently visited a Turkcell store to switch from a physical SIM card to an e-SIM. To my surprise, I was charged ₺500 for this extremely simple process. Out of curiosity, I checked the fees for the same service at Vodafone and Türk Telekom—both charge only about ₺100. That means Turkcell’s pricing is 5 times higher than its direct competitors for the exact same procedure.
This raises serious concerns about anti-competitive pricing and customer exploitation. According to industry norms and operator claims, the cost for e-SIM activation should match the standard SIM card replacement fees. Clearly, Turkcell is not abiding by this principle.
Worse, the store failed to disclose the fee transparently beforehand. There was no clear pricing chart, no explanation for the inflated cost, and no effort made to provide any reasonable alternative. This kind of behavior undermines consumer trust and unfairly penalizes loyal customers.
I demand a full explanation for this pricing policy and a refund of the unreasonable amount I was charged. Turkcell must align its fees with market standards immediately.
