TransferGo Failed My £1,700 Transfer and Won’t Refund My Money
I used TransferGo to send £1,700 (the equivalent in Turkish Lira) from the UK to my brother’s bank account in Turkey. After completing the transfer, I received an email claiming that the account details did not match and the money could not be deposited. When my brother contacted his bank, he was told that no transfer attempt had ever been made to his account.
I then provided my own bank account details in Turkey so that the funds could be deposited there instead. TransferGo also requested my passport and a selfie photo, which I reluctantly provided for verification. However, the same issue happened again—they claimed the name didn’t match, even though my bank confirmed that there were no pending incoming transfers or EFT attempts.
Now, my money is stuck, and I cannot get it back. I asked to cancel the transfer and refund my £1,700, but customer service has been completely unresponsive. No one is giving me a clear explanation, and I feel like my trust has been abused.
This situation is unacceptable. I expect an immediate refund of my £1,700 and a formal explanation of why my transfer was mishandled. If this issue is not resolved, I will escalate the matter to the UK police, the press, and the Istanbul judicial authorities.
