Transavia Charged Me Twice for the Same €70 Baggage Fee

On January 23, 2026, while checking in my baggage for a Transavia flight from Istanbul Airport to Nantes, I was asked to pay an additional baggage fee of €70.

I initially made the payment using my DenizBank credit card. However, the airport representative informed me that the transaction had not been approved and instructed me to make the payment again. Following this instruction, I paid the same €70 baggage fee a second time using my wife's QNB Finansbank credit card.

At that moment, I received a notification from DenizBank confirming that the first €70 transaction had in fact been successfully charged to my account. I immediately informed the representative several times that the payment had already been processed. Despite this, I was repeatedly told that the first transaction had failed and that the amount would automatically be returned to my account. Based on that assurance, the second payment was collected as well.

My bank records clearly show two separate €70 charges for the same baggage fee. The first charge was processed on my DenizBank credit card at 05:36, and the second charge was processed on the QNB Finansbank credit card at 05:37.

Since that date, I have reported this issue through multiple channels and submitted supporting bank statements and payment receipts demonstrating the duplicate charge. Nevertheless, the first €70 payment has still not been refunded.

There is no dispute that two separate payments were collected for a single baggage charge. As a result, I was incorrectly charged an extra €70.

I respectfully request that Transavia immediately refund the excess €70 that was collected due to this duplicate payment error. I also request written confirmation once the refund has been processed and an explanation as to why the duplicate charge has remained unresolved despite the evidence provided.

I expect this matter to be resolved promptly and the improperly collected €70 to be returned without further delay.
