Tracelo Phone Locator Sent Message Without Consent
I used the Tracelo phone locator service on my iPhone on April 4, 2026 at around 10:39 pm (Central Time), paying 1.85 USD for the service. Before making the payment, I was clearly under the impression that the other party would not be notified that I was trying to locate their phone number. However, after I initiated the trace, Tracelo attempted to send a message to the other party indicating that I was trying to locate them, which is the exact opposite of what I believed the service would do. Because of this, I immediately cancelled the trace. I consider this situation a serious breach of my expectations regarding privacy and how the service was described, and I do not want Tracelo to contact or message the phone number I was trying to locate in any way. I am requesting a full refund of the 1.85 USD I paid on April 4, 2026 and a clear confirmation that Tracelo will not send any messages or notifications to the phone number I attempted to locate, and that no further action will be taken toward that number.
