Tefal Store Manager Was Rude and Refused My Return

On February 22nd, we purchased two items from the Tefal store at Denizli Forum Çamlık in Turkey. A week later, when I wanted to return one of the items, the store manager told me that returns could not be processed on weekends because banks were closed. However, she did not provide a clear and sufficient explanation for this reasoning. This was the first time I had ever heard that a return could not be processed simply because it was the weekend. In an age where everything can be handled online, I found it difficult to understand why the return could not be processed due to banks being closed, especially since the reasoning was not properly explained. I was essentially forced into exchanging the item instead. While browsing the pans for an exchange, the store manager—who was not just a sales associate but the person in charge—turned to the people next to me and said, “She seems very fussy…” (or something along those lines). How can a store manager not know how to communicate with a customer she has never met before? I fail to understand how Tefal allows someone with such poor customer communication skills and a disrespectful attitude toward customers to hold a managerial position. On top of that, she made it seem like she was doing me a favor by saying, “I am trying to help you here,” as if she was trying to take the upper hand in the situation. I don’t know how to explain this kind of behavior. Denizli may not be a metropol city, but please train your staff on setting professional boundaries and maintaining respectful communication with customers, Tefal! This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Your brand is suffering because of employees who are incompetent and merely loitering around instead of doing their jobs properly!
