We purchased a Tefal RG7675 X-Plorer Serie 75 robot vacuum cleaner and have been using it for more than a year. The product vacuums well, like any other robot vacuum cleaner. It's convenient to have dual front brushes, and it's easy to empty and clean. However, the issue arises with the availability of spare parts. Despite being a Tefal product, we assumed we wouldn't encounter any problems with spare parts. Unfortunately, after a year had passed, we realized we had made a huge mistake.
While other brands, which we don't particularly favor, offer original spare brushes, filters, and main brushes readily available, finding spare parts for the Tefal brand is as challenging as obtaining rare Indian fabric. The main brush has a design flaw, causing it to jam hair into its rotating mechanism, resulting in the brush getting stuck after just three months of use. You constantly need to open the black rotating parts on both sides of the brush to clean the tangled hair inside. This process is not as simple as removing a brush; there are two removable black parts on both sides that need separating and cleaning, often requiring the use of a fruit knife.
Additionally, the tiny bearings inside tend to run out of oil at some point, causing them to spin with a squeak. Despite numerous attempts to contact Tefal customer service, we have yet to receive a positive response. While Tefal's website features a section for spare parts and accessories, surprisingly, robot vacuum cleaners are not included. Even though pressure cooker gaskets are available for purchase, essential parts for robot vacuum cleaners are nowhere to be found.
After months of searching for a service website or technology market that stocked main brushes, we could barely find a service center, and even then, side brushes, filters, or any other spare parts were unavailable. Service personnel informed us that the product was unavailable at the center.
The situation described pertains to the original parts. Reading the comments of those who have purchased aftermarket Chinese goods will elucidate why we strive for original parts.
In conclusion, if you are considering purchasing a product from the Tefal brand, be aware that the robot's lifespan is as long as that of its brush. If the brush fails, you'll either resort to purchasing fake Chinese spare parts, allowing for a few more uses before replacement, or discard the robot altogether. It's essential to understand that Tefal does not provide adequate support for Robot Vacuum Cleaners.
