TEB Bank Credit Card Restricted Before Due Date Despite Weekend Rule
On Sunday, November 2, 2025, it was the due date for my loan payment. I paid the minimum amount on my credit card and planned to pay the remaining statement balance and loan installment on Monday, November 3, after receiving my overtime payment. However, at 9 a.m. on the very morning of the due date, I received a message stating that my card had been restricted due to a delay in my loan payment. Officially, when a due date falls on a weekend, the first business day is considered the payment date, and this is clearly stated in my bank contract. I have faced this same issue multiple times with TEB Bank and continue to be victimized. Despite being a salary customer, having my card restricted before the end of the payment day has negatively affected my mental well-being and caused significant inconvenience. My credit card was restricted in violation of the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, and my contract explicitly states that if the due date falls on a weekend, the first business day is considered the payment date. Additionally, every time my salary is deposited, the bank withdraws various amounts from my account under the label “loan repayment.” All these deductions constitute unjust enrichment and are unlawful. I request a full refund of these unauthorized deductions, supported by documentation. I have contacted customer service, but no solution has been offered. My credit card debt was ₺1,160, and I intended to pay it from another account. My card is still restricted. I demand that the restriction be lifted immediately and that all unauthorized deductions from my salary be refunded. Furthermore, I will file a claim for moral damages due to the psychological distress this situation has caused me. I request that my grievance be resolved urgently.
