It appears that T-Mobile has eliminated domestic talk, text, and data overage charges on most plans, such as Magenta, Simple Choice™, and ONE. If you're always exceeding your data limit, try these steps:
• Review your rate plan: Be on a T-Mobile "no more overages" plan. Contact T-Mobile customer support to verify your plan's eligibility.
• Track your data usage throughout your billing cycle. T-Mobile usually offers real-time data usage monitoring tools and apps. Account settings let you check data usage.
• Set up data usage alerts: T-Mobile offers this. You can get notifications when your data limit is approaching to adjust your usage.
• Reduce cellular data use by connecting to Wi-Fi networks when available. You can save high-speed data when you need it.
• Adjust smartphone or tablet settings to limit data usage. You can disable automatic app updates, lower video streaming quality, and limit app background data usage.
• If you frequently run out of high-speed data before the end of your billing cycle, T-Mobile offers On-Demand Data Passes or data upgrades.
Most T-Mobile customers have no domestic overage charges, but corporate, business, and government plans, international calls and texts, and pay-per-use rate plans do. You may incur overage charges for certain services on one of these plans. To understand your plan and usage, contact T-Mobile customer support.
