Stayforlong Tried to Triple My Hotel Price After Black Friday Reservation
During the Black Friday campaign in November, I made two reservations through Stayforlong for a hotel in Antalya/Kemer.
Last week of January – 3-night stay (Reservation No: cpckjfrpmd) – completed without any issues.
March reservation – 3 rooms for 3 nights (6 adults + 2 children) – Reservation Nos: cpddrxynj7 / CPDDT4LKNV / CPDDT1P7WJ.
These reservations were structured as a partial prepayment with the remaining balance due about two weeks before the stay.
For my March reservation, I was asked to approve a cancellation due to a “source market error.” When I contacted the hotel directly, they confirmed that the reservation was active and valid, and I forwarded this written confirmation. I also explained that all of our travel plans were made based on this reservation and that I was ready to pay the remaining balance. However, the representative told me not to make the payment while they investigated the issue.
Despite this, I continued to receive similar emails titled “escalations” for weeks. In these messages, I was asked to either cancel the reservation for free or accept a new price nearly three times higher than the original booking price.
Since we are three families traveling together, I explained that I could not risk uncertainty and that I did not accept the new price. I requested that the reservation be canceled and that the approximately 10% prepayment I made be refunded. However:
Despite my cancellation request, similar emails continue to be sent.
The reservation still appears active in the system.
The prepayment has not been refunded.
Additionally, although I reported this issue individually and explained the situation, no concrete resolution has been provided.
Even though I was told “do not make the payment,” the reservation has not been officially canceled. If the remaining payment is not made, there is a risk that the booking may be marked as incomplete by the customer, which could lead to the prepayment not being refunded. This clearly creates a serious consumer grievance.
My request:
The March reservations should be officially canceled, the prepayment should be refunded to my credit card without delay, and I should receive clear written confirmation about the outcome of the process.
I kindly request that my complaint be addressed and resolved urgently.
