As a long-time Starbucks customer, I have always enjoyed the brand's consistency and quality. However, over the past few years, I’ve experienced significant issues with the quality of the lids used for hot beverages. I prefer extra-hot coffee, especially during winter, but the lids often soften and deform upon contact with hot liquids. This leads to the lids dislodging, causing the paper cup to soften and the coffee to spill, sometimes even burning my hand.
I’ve noticed inconsistent responses across different Starbucks locations when I’ve raised this issue. At Akmerkez, MKM Akatlar, and Nişantaşı branches, my requests for more durable lids were met with unprofessional comments like, “It’s against store policy,” or “If I pour less coffee, you won’t burn yourself.” In contrast, the Etiler and Zekeriyaköy branches addressed the issue positively with solutions like, “Of course, we’ll help.”
Despite raising this issue with Starbucks headquarters and receiving a professional response, no concrete steps have been taken to resolve the problem. This lack of resolution has turned what should be a simple request into an ongoing frustration.
I strongly urge Starbucks to improve the quality of their lids or offer alternative, durable lid options, even if it comes with an additional cost. As a loyal customer, I hope Starbucks values feedback and takes swift action to maintain its high standards and customer trust.
