Samsung RT62K7040SL/TR Fridge Not Cooling - Gas Leak Not Covered Warranty
I purchased a Samsung combi-type refrigerator with a volume of 610 liters, model RT62K7040SL/TR, from the Samsung Forum İstanbul store in Bayrampaşa (Istanbul). After a while, the freezer compartment stopped cooling sufficiently, and then the cooling section also stopped cooling properly, so I called the authorized service. After the tests carried out by the authorized service, I was informed that corrosion had occurred in the fittings connected to the compressor, that a gas leak had formed there, and that due to the lack of gas, first the freezer compartment and then the refrigerator section could not cool. Even though there is a 10‑year motor warranty, the service stated that this problem is not covered by the warranty and that the corroded gas fittings are considered outside the scope, although they are directly related to the motor and operate as a whole with it. I paid ₺1,200 as service fee during this process. I believe that the corrosion and gas leak in the fittings are due to the material quality and workmanship of the product, and that such a serious problem should not occur in a refrigerator of this segment. Moreover, the same fault had previously occurred and the refrigerator remained in the authorized service for about two months, yet Samsung did not accept one‑to‑one replacement at that time either. As a result, my 610‑liter refrigerator has become unusable and I have been seriously aggrieved. In line with my legal rights and the 10‑year motor warranty, I request that the necessary intervention on the compressor and related fittings be carried out free of charge and that my refrigerator be repaired at no cost to me. I kindly ask Samsung to urgently resolve this issue and to ensure that I do not suffer any more loss.
