Samsung Refrigerator Malfunction, Service Unwilling to Repair

After six years, my Samsung refrigerator broke down. Samsung appears to be making fun of its customers. They are requesting 38,000 ₺ from me. For a six-year-old refrigerator, Samsung prepared a report stating that ' repair is impossible,' and I was offered to replace it with another Samsung refrigerator on the market for 32,999 ₺, for 37,920 ₺. To compensate for my inconvenience, they said they would take my old refrigerator, which couldn't be repaired, and replace it with a new refrigerator at a price of 5,000 ₺ higher than the market value. They handed me this service sheet that the service company had prepared. I will also attach photos below for those who are skeptical or do not believe. In summary, it is written on page 50 of the Samsung Refrigerator User Manual: 'For ten (10) years, during the product's service life, our authorized service centers will supply spare parts, as well as maintenance and repair.' My demands to Samsung representatives are simple: either repair my refrigerator, which broke down after six years and whose service life has not yet expired, as stated in the manual or replace it with a new equivalent made in accordance with the right to replacement for money, in accordance with current legislation. My legal rights are well known to me. I understand their desire to prolong this process, but I am confident that it will end in my favor. So I bought a small refrigerator today and began using it. I intend to use every legal means available to me. In addition, I will occasionally share the process I am going through on other social platforms and forums. I'll also email this complaint to the Samsung center in South Korea. I am confident they will provide a solution. I will inform them that they are unaware of what is going on with customers at Samsung branches and that they will undoubtedly provide a solution once the problem is brought to their attention. I'll keep you updated on everything that happens. In conclusion: From my research, I found that body gas leaks occur in refrigerators because durable/copper pipes are not used in the body, and therefore, they cannot complete their 10-year lifespan. I saw hundreds of such complaints, and this is why, in my opinion, these products fall into the category of defective goods. I am calling on the authorities; they continue to knowingly sell defective goods to people. The model of my refrigerator is still being sold in Samsung stores. They should buy and examine one, and they will understand what I mean. If they get in touch with people who have similar complaints on this site, the seriousness of the situation will become apparent.

What is a Defective Good? ... Goods that do not meet the intended use of equivalent goods, that reduce or eliminate the benefits reasonably expected by the consumer, and that contain material, legal, or economic deficiencies are also considered defective goods."

So, the product is actually a defective good. People should not have to buy a refrigerator every 5-6 years. This product is not a user error; the pipes are leaking gas from a place I can't even see with my eyes.

To the people who will buy these products, I want to say that I made a mistake by trusting the Samsung brand, that the commitments in the product manual were not fulfilled, and that the promises were not kept. There is no empathy with customers in any way, they are indifferent, and I hope others will consider the complaints written so that they do not end up in my situation. I also request the relevant authorities to intervene in this situation and apply punitive measures.

Samsung is selling defective products. I will prove this. Samsung continues to mock its customers. Hello again, everyone: Since all my conversations with the Samsung customer service representative are recorded, I will write everything down with the date and time. After writing my complaint on Şikayetvar.com, on 27.11.2023 at 13:31, I received a call from the number 4447711, and the person who identified herself as Ms. Gül from the Samsung Customer Communication Center. In every conversation we had with Ms. Gül, she started by stating that the conversations were recorded for service quality purposes. She asked me to send a picture of the invoice for my refrigerator, which they couldn't repair, to the email address [email protected]. I sent the invoice picture to the specified address within an hour. The next day, on 28.11.2023 at 12:21, Ms. Gül called again from the number 4447711 and said that a proposal had been determined for me by the headquarters for the Samsung RT 62K7040SL refrigerator and that she was calling to convey it. She continued by saying that if I made a total payment of 14,801 TL upfront for the new and guaranteed Samsung RT 62K7040SL refrigerator, they would bring me a new refrigerator. I asked if I had the right to extend the warranty to avoid facing the same problem again in the future. She said she didn't know about that and that I should ask the service. I said I would think about it and give my decision in a couple of days. I was told I would be called again. On 30.11.2023 at 14:38, Ms. Gül called again from the number 4447711, stating that the conversations were recorded and asked if I accepted their offer. I proposed that the price be 10,000 TL. She said the price was determined by the headquarters and that she couldn't intervene in it. She repeated the offer to me and said, "Mr. Süleyman, if you make a payment of 14,801 TL to the Samsung service named Emin Elektronik in Adana, they will bring you a new and guaranteed Samsung RT 62K7040SL refrigerator." I asked if there would be any other payments and if it had to be upfront. She said I only needed to make a payment of 14,801 TL and that the service did not offer installments. When I asked if they could send the payment amount (14,801 TL) via email or message, she stated that they would only do it verbally. Once the approval for accepting the offer was received, I was told that Emin Electronics in Adana Seyhan would contact me, and I requested that the process not be prolonged. We hung up the phone. On 01.12.2023 at 12:48, Ms. Gül called from the number 4447711 and said that the service was looking into the process and checking the stocks. I asked if they had offered a product that was not in stock since they were checking the stocks. Subsequently, on 04.12.2023 at 14:53, Ms. Gül called again from the number 4447711 and asked if Emin Electronics in Adana had contacted me. I said I had not been contacted. She then said that she had just spoken with the staff at Emin Electronics and received a statement that they had called me. I reiterated that I had not been contacted. Later, I went to Emin Electronics in Adana Seyhan. Just as I was at the door of the workplace, on 04.12.2023 at 15:29, Ms. Gül called from the number 4447711 and told me that she had spoken with Emin Electronics and that the offered price had been increased to 20,167 TL. (I had read on this site before that a product not in stock had been offered to another customer, and then they were told that the product was no longer available and another product was offered at exorbitant prices). I asked how this could be. Ms. Gül said that normally the price increase should be communicated to me by the staff at Emin Electronics, but the service staff had requested that she convey the new price. When I told Ms. Gül that the records repeatedly stated that a brand new Samsung RT 62K7040SL refrigerator with a 3-year warranty would be delivered to my home if I paid 14,801 TL, she acknowledged this and said she accepted it. At the Emin Electronics workplace, I asked the staff if I could get a written copy of the increased offer. They said they could not provide it in writing. While at Emin Electronics in Adana on 04.12.2023 at 15:40, I called 4447711 and summarized the issue to the customer representative. As a result, Samsung has messed up the process with its incompetent staff. I will share the service report everywhere, which states that the product, which they claim has a 10-year lifespan in their user manual, became irreparable (scrapped) in its 6th year, and I will see you in court.
