Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Battery Swelling After Update

February 25 11:54 PM137

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone and after the last software update, I started to experience very serious charging and battery problems. The phone shuts down suddenly when it is around 30%, the battery drains much faster than normal, and when I plug it in to charge it fills up much faster than it should. Sometimes it gets stuck at around 40% and does not progress. I have been facing these issues for about a month and the battery swelling is still ongoing. When I read the comments of people who had similar problems on the internet, I saw that there might be a possibility of battery swelling. After checking the back cover of the phone, I noticed that my battery had indeed swollen and the back cover started to open. This is an extremely serious problem in terms of both safety and the health of the device. My phone's warranty has just expired. However, since this problem started to appear right after the update sent to my device, I consider this not as a user error but as a malfunction that occurred as a result of a software process. I have been using Samsung phones for years, I am not someone who frequently changes phones, and I take very good care of my devices. I have never encountered such a serious problem in such a short period of time. When I called the relevant channel, I was told that the device is out of warranty and that the repair would be paid. I find it unacceptable that a device purchased for around ₺50,000 when it was first released, and which I have been using carefully, is left in this condition after an update and that I am asked to pay for a problem that appears to be caused by software and battery quality. My clear expectation from Samsung is that the damage caused by the battery swelling and the charging problems that appeared after the update be remedied free of charge. I request that my phone be replaced with a new device free of charge, or at the very least, that the battery be replaced free of charge with an original Samsung battery and that any damage caused by the swelling be fully repaired at no cost to me.
