Samsung Galaxy S22 Motherboard Failed 2 Days After Samsung's Official Update

I am writing regarding a serious malfunction that began on my Samsung Galaxy S22 (model SM‑S901E) immediately after installing Samsung’s official software update S901EXXSEGZH4 on 19 September 2026. Two days after the update, the phone began randomly shutting down and rebooting. These reboots occur at any battery level, both while charging and on battery, and they continue even in Safe Mode. To better understand the cause, I examined the device’s own system logs. For the months prior to the update there is not a single kernel panic recorded. After the update, however, there are 24 kernel panics marked “F2FS: BUG!”, each preceded by a UFS storage error, and the UFS error counter jumped from 0 on the day of the update to 133. The phone has never been rooted or modified in any way; Knox is 0, the bootloader is locked and only official firmware has been used. I took the device to Samsung’s authorized service provider KVK Teknik Servis in Pendik, Istanbul, on 24 September 2026. First they replaced the battery, but the random reboots continued unchanged. On 25 September 2026 they diagnosed a motherboard failure and sent me an SMS quoting ₺31,580.65 for the repair. Samsung Turkey’s live support only forwarded my case to the service center and did not offer any other solution. From my research and direct examples, I have learned that the same fault has been repaired free of charge on out‑of‑warranty Galaxy S22 devices in other countries. In particular, the Samsung service center in Milan referred to this as “a known problem of the S22 series”, and a similar free repair has been provided in Berlin, Germany. I believe Samsung customers in Turkey deserve the same fair treatment and goodwill, especially when the malfunction starts right after an official software update and the device has not been misused or modified by the user. I therefore kindly request that the motherboard of my Galaxy S22 be repaired free of charge as a goodwill gesture, given that the issue clearly began after Samsung’s own update and is supported by the device’s error logs. If a full goodwill repair is not possible, I ask for a substantial discount on the motherboard replacement and a clear written explanation of the reasons for your decision. I look forward to a fair and consistent resolution aligned with how similar cases have been handled in other countries.
