One UI 8.5 Update Destroys Samsung Galaxy S24+ Battery Life
After the One UI 8.5 update arrived on my Samsung Galaxy S24+ on June 10th, my battery performance took a serious hit. I use the device in Turkey on a Türk Telekom line, and before the update I could easily get a day and a half to two days out of a single charge under normal use — now I have to plug in twice a day.
Before the update, it would take hours for the battery to drop from 100% to 80%. Now I can actually watch the battery percentage visibly falling while the screen is on. I haven't performed any kind of reset, changed any settings, or touched any power saving options — the problem appeared out of nowhere the moment the update installed.
I went through the exact same issue after a similar update last year, and I saw many other users reporting the same complaint on this platform at the time. That battery problem was eventually fixed with a subsequent update. I'm now requesting that Samsung investigate the battery drain issue that appeared following One UI 8.5, and push out a new update to resolve it as quickly as possible.
