Ryanair App Failed During Online Check-In and Forced Airport Fee

December 29, 2025 12:12 AM24

On December 24, I attempted to complete online check-in through the Ryanair app for my flight FR1008 from Otopeni Bucharest to London Stansted. However, because the app did not allow me to scan and upload the required documents, I was unable to complete the online check-in process. Despite clearly explaining this technical issue to airport staff and even though the problem was caused by the app rather than by me, I was charged a 55 Euro check-in fee. I do not find it fair or customer-focused to demand an extra fee from a passenger who was unable to check in online due to a malfunction in the airline’s own application. For this reason, I am requesting a refund of the 55 Euro check-in fee I paid and asking that this app-related error be investigated so that other passengers in similar situations do not experience the same inconvenience.
