I have been unable to access my Riot account for about six months. Even though the issue clearly stems from Riot’s own security/system problem, they are keeping my access locked by claiming I haven’t proven that the account belongs to me.
When I contact support, they ask questions like “Which agent did you unlock first,” which no reasonable person could remember. Because I cannot recall answers to these questions, they refuse to return my account. Yet the Gmail address and phone number registered to the account belong entirely to me, and I still have full access to both. I know my username, my password, and all the passwords I’ve ever used with the account, yet none of this is considered sufficient for account verification.
Over the years I’ve spent money on this account, and the current value of those purchases is at least $186 USD. It is unacceptable for this value to go to waste because of a problem with Riot’s own system. I currently cannot access the skins and in-game content I purchased with real money. This situation also presents a serious security and hardship risk for other players.
I request that my account be returned to me via the email and phone number that belong to me, and that the necessary investigation be completed so that this hardship is resolved as quickly as possible. I also want Riot to make the account recovery process more fair and logical so that similar security issues do not happen to other users.
