Riot Games Issued a 3-Day Valorant Ban After Internet and Power Outages
I recently received a warning in Valorant after being marked AFK for two rounds due to an internet connection failure that was completely outside of my control. Unfortunately, shortly afterward, a power outage occurred, causing me to disconnect from another match and be marked AFK again.
As a result of these technical issues, Riot Games suspended me from Competitive matchmaking for three days. While I understand the importance of discouraging intentional AFK behavior, these incidents were caused by unexpected internet and electricity outages rather than any deliberate action on my part. Being penalized so severely for circumstances beyond my control feels unfair and has negatively affected my overall experience with the game.
In addition to the AFK penalty, I have ongoing concerns regarding Valorant's matchmaking system. I frequently encounter matches where players appear to have significantly different skill levels and ranks, creating unbalanced games. I have also encountered suspected cheaters in ranked matches, which has led to repeated rank losses and a frustrating competitive experience.
The combination of technical penalties, unbalanced matchmaking, and suspected cheating has made it increasingly difficult to enjoy the game and progress fairly in ranked play.
I respectfully request that Riot Games review the circumstances surrounding my AFK penalties, reconsider the three-day Competitive suspension, and evaluate whether exceptions can be made when disconnections are caused by verified technical issues such as internet or power outages. I also ask Riot Games to continue improving matchmaking quality and anti-cheat enforcement to ensure a fair and balanced competitive environment for all players.
I would appreciate a clear explanation regarding the penalty and any measures being taken to address these ongoing matchmaking and cheating concerns.
