Rentalcars Gave Me Two Small Cars Instead of My 7-Seater and Demanded Extra Fees
I booked a 7-seater vehicle through Rentalcars.com for June 20–25, with pickup at Podgorica Airport in Montenegro. The reservation was fully paid in advance and confirmed. However, when I arrived at the airport to collect the car, I was told by the local provider, Driver Rent A Car, that the vehicle I reserved was “out of service.”
Instead of offering a proper solution, they proposed to give me two small vehicles and demanded an additional €150 per person for insurance—even though I had already paid in full when booking. This alternative was completely unreasonable and made no sense given my original reservation.
When I expressed my frustration and declined the extra charges, they simply said, “You can cancel the reservation if you want,” showing no interest in actually solving the problem. Because of this, I lost over two hours at the airport on the first day of my trip, and it threw off our entire travel schedule.
Since then, I’ve been trying to resolve the issue directly with Rentalcars.com, but I keep getting passed from one representative to another without any real response. No one seems willing to take ownership or process the refund for the service I didn’t receive.
Rentalcars, I demand a full refund for this failed booking and an explanation as to why your platform allows providers to treat customers this way. This experience has completely shaken my trust in your service.
