Payless Istanbul Airport Car Rental Dissatisfaction
I rented a car from the Payless branch at Istanbul Airport, and everything seemed to be going smoothly at first. Despite my wife, who was an additional driver, not having her driver's license and ID with her, they checked her license via e-Devlet and added her as an additional driver without any issues. They processed the payment and directed me downstairs to pick up the car.
However, when I got to the lower level, the staff informed me that they couldn't give me the car because it hadn't had its oil maintenance done. They sent me back upstairs, where the female employee at the desk told me that they couldn't rent me the car and would cancel the reservation. I explained that my wife had already left, and I was alone since everything seemed fine up until that point. The employee rudely suggested that my wife could return.
I was left stranded at the airport without a car. If they couldn't rent me the car, why did they send me downstairs to pick it up? The issue with the company and the lack of assistance is evident. It’s almost laughable how they acted as if they owned the entire airport.
