Sixt Car Rental Refused Service Due to Credit Card Policy and Unhelpful Staff at İzmir Airport
On November 3, 2024, I reserved a rental car through Obilet with Sixt at İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport. However, because I didn’t have a credit card under my own name with me, they refused to give me the car. I offered my spouse’s credit card as an alternative, but they rejected that as well. I then tried to cancel the initial reservation on Obilet and rebook under my spouse's name, only to be told that her new ID card would not be accepted in place of a traditional driver’s license.
Instead of offering any workable solutions, the customer service agents were not only unhelpful but also exceptionally rude. One representative’s attitude bordered on hostility, making us feel as though we were an inconvenience. It’s extremely disappointing to experience such dismissive and unprofessional service from a supposedly reputable company like Sixt. I won’t be renting from Sixt at İzmir Airport again, as their team clearly lacks customer service skills and professionalism.
