On May 9, 2024, I purchased a pair of Nike Pegasus Trail 3 GTX shoes from the Nike store, specifically for their Gore-Tex waterproof feature. This was the main reason I chose this model, as they were marketed as highly water-resistant. However, after regular use, a hole appeared on the upper part of the shoe, causing it to leak water through this spot.
On October 12, 2024, I returned the shoes to the store under warranty, requesting an inspection. The store informed me that the results would be available within 15 days and that I would be notified by phone. Yet, by October 31, 2024, I had received no updates, so I had to visit the store in person to inquire. I was then informed that my claim had been rejected.
I firmly believe the hole is not due to user error; the plastic section near the laces continuously rubbed against the fabric while I wore them, eventually causing the material to tear. This seems to be a clear manufacturing flaw.
Furthermore, not being informed of the inspection outcome meant I had to spend additional time and money visiting the store to check on the status myself. I am reaching out to Nike again before filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee, as I hope for a resolution that addresses this issue fairly. If no positive outcome is provided, I will escalate this matter, and this unresolved issue will impact my trust in the Nike brand.
Thank you.
