Nike Lebron Witness 7 Developed Persistent Odor After Light Rain

I've always been a loyal Nike shoe wearer, but now I'm not sure if I'll continue. I recently purchased the Nike Lebron Witness 7 model. Just a day after buying them, I got caught in the rain, and the shoes got slightly wet. Since then, they've been emitting a strong, unpleasant odor.
I tried to address the issue by thoroughly drying the shoes, but when the smell persisted, I even hand-washed them carefully. Unfortunately, the odor is still present and quite potent. At this point, the shoes are unwearable.
This experience has been disappointing, especially given my long-standing loyalty to the Nike brand. I'm looking for a prompt solution to this problem, as I can't use the shoes in their current condition.
