You can fix your Nike shoes yourself if they make a lot of noise in quiet places like the library:
• You should use a damp cloth to clean the soles of your shoes well before each wear. Squeaking can be caused by dirt and other things on the soles.
• If you think the squeaking is caused by the tongue rubbing against the laces, you can condition the leather on the tongue of the shoe with saddle soap or another product. This should help cut down on the noise-making friction. You might need to use the conditioner again every so often.
• If the squeak sounds like it's coming from the heel of your shoes, it might be loose or not have been properly glued or nailed when they were made. In this case, you might want to check the heel area and see if it needs to be resized or secured.
• Baking Soda Solution: If you want to do something else yourself, take out the insoles and sprinkle baking soda inside the shoe. Move it around to spread the baking soda out evenly, and then turn it over to get rid of any extra powder. Putting the insoles back in might stop the squeaking.

To keep your shoes in good condition, avoid exposing them to wet or humid conditions, avoid drying them in a dryer, store them in a cool, dry place, and limit prolonged wear, especially when standing for long periods.
