I’ve been a long-time user of Mustela newborn shampoo, along with the brand’s sunscreens and other skincare products. I’ve always trusted Mustela for my child’s hygiene needs—until now. My child, who used to love bath time and would run happily to the bathroom, now refuses to bathe because the shampoo burns the eyes so badly.
To be sure, I tested it myself, and the eye irritation is intense. This is unacceptable for a product marketed specifically for newborns and infants. What’s worse is that we’ve never had an issue with previous bottles, so something seems off with this one. Sadly, I still have a full bottle left, but I can’t bring myself to use it again on my child.
Mustela, I trusted your brand, but now I feel let down. You need to investigate this batch immediately and ensure quality control is in place. No parent should have to watch their child cry in pain from a product that’s supposed to be gentle. I request a refund and an explanation. We deserve safe, consistent products—not ones that hurt our little ones.
