Moovit Verification Triggered an Unauthorized Mobile Subscription
At approximately 9:33 a.m. on June 11, 2026, I opened the Moovit app to search for directions to an address. The app asked me to enter my phone number for verification. After I entered it, the verification code I received was automatically submitted to the system. About one minute later, I received a text message from the short code 3699 stating, “You can access the preliminary information form for the service subscription you started on June 11, 2026, through the following link.” The message did not disclose any pricing information.
As soon as I received the text message, I immediately called Türk Telekom customer service and was connected to a representative approximately ten minutes later. During the call, I learned that a service subscription had been activated through my mobile line, that it cost $6 per month, and that I would be charged $6 for the current month. The phone line ending in 5052****47 is registered in my name.
I absolutely refuse to accept a $6 charge for a subscription that was activated entirely by mistake and remained active for only approximately ten minutes. Even though I contacted customer service immediately after discovering the issue, I was told that the subscription could be canceled but that the fee would still be charged.
I am requesting that the $6 service subscription fee not be charged to my mobile line. If the transaction has already been processed, I demand a full refund.
