Monster Abra A7 Sent for Battery Repair, Mainboard Fault Claimed
I am the user of a Monster Abra A7 V14.2 laptop, which I delivered to the Monster Technical Service Center in Konak, İzmir on 16 June 2026 due to a battery‑related issue. The computer was operating normally in every respect except for the fact that it would shut down immediately whenever there was a power outage or when the power adapter was unplugged. For this reason, I requested only that the battery be replaced. Following the initial inspection, I was contacted on 18 June 2026 and asked to approve the battery replacement, and I clearly and explicitly approved only the battery replacement. Approximately one week later, on 26 June 2026, I was informed that the device allegedly had a processor failure and subsequently a motherboard failure. At that point, I was asked to pay ₺19,900 for the motherboard replacement and ₺3,900 for the battery replacement, for a total of ₺24,800. However, I delivered the laptop to the service center in working condition. Apart from the immediate shutdown caused by the battery issue when external power was disconnected, the device had never exhibited any freezing, blue screen errors, boot failures, performance issues, or any indication of processor or motherboard failure. I also have video recordings clearly demonstrating that the computer was functioning normally before it was handed over for service. When I was told about the alleged processor and motherboard failures, I did not give approval for such repairs; on the contrary, I clearly and strongly stated that I did not accept that my laptop’s mainboard or processor was damaged. In light of these facts, I first request a detailed written explanation as to how a device that was operating normally and did not exhibit any processor or motherboard failure when I delivered it has now been diagnosed with such faults, and on which specific technical findings and tests this costly repair recommendation is based. Furthermore, in line with my original and clearly stated request, I ask that only the battery be replaced, at my expense, without replacing any additional components unless such replacements are proven to be absolutely necessary with transparent and verifiable technical justification. Although the warranty period has expired, the fact that I delivered a fully functional device and was later presented with claims of major processor and motherboard failures involving a substantial repair cost has seriously undermined my confidence in the service process. I request that my laptop be returned to me in the same complete and working condition in which I delivered it to the service center, that my complaint be thoroughly and objectively investigated, that the entire process be explained to me transparently in writing, and that this matter be resolved in accordance with my stated requests.
