Can’t Delete com.mojang.mcpe Folder, Minecraft Won’t Reinstall After APK Conflict

July 19, 2025 1:48 PM223

I installed Minecraft as an APK on my phone, but that version had lag issues. To switch to another version, I uninstalled the game while selecting the option to “keep files” so I wouldn’t lose my worlds. When I tried installing a different version afterward, I got the error: “existing package conflicts with another package.”

In the past, this issue would resolve itself after 2–3 weeks, and I was able to reinstall the game. However, this time it has been almost a full month, and the problem still hasn’t gone away. I discovered that a hidden com.mojang.mcpe folder remains in my storage, and no matter what I do, it cannot be deleted. I have tried multiple methods, but nothing works.

I am asking for clear guidance from the Minecraft/Mojang support team or from anyone who knows how to permanently delete this leftover folder so I can reinstall the game and continue playing without losing my worlds.
