Repair Or Replacement Of Miele Washing Machine

I purchased a Miele WDD020 washing machine in 2018 in Istanbul, from a dealer I remember as Mkev Aletleri, where the sales representative was Mr. S***. At the time of purchase, I was clearly informed that these machines are designed to be used without problems for approximately 20 years, and this long lifespan promise was the main reason why I chose this product and brand in good faith. As of 05.04.2026, the washing machine broke down, and on 06.04.2026 it was examined by the authorized service. After the inspection, I was informed that the drum is broken and needs to be replaced. For this repair, a cost of approximately ₺55,000 (around €1,057) has been quoted, which I find extremely high for a machine that is only about eight years old and was purchased with the expectation of at least 20 years of trouble-free use. The occurrence of such a serious and costly fault in a relatively short period compared to the promised lifespan has caused significant disappointment and financial burden. I believe this situation does not align with the durability and reliability image associated with Miele, nor with the information provided to me at the time of sale. In order to resolve this grievance, I kindly request that the drum replacement be carried out free of charge or that the product be replaced with an equivalent new machine under fair and customer-oriented conditions. I expect Miele to stand behind its brand promise and the long-lasting quality it emphasizes.

Today I was called by Miele. I was told that a 20% discount could be applied to technical parts, and that a 30% discount could be provided if I purchase a new product. However, I made it clear that my expectations are completely different. It is unacceptable for such a serious malfunction to occur in a machine that is only seven years old. I conveyed that this issue must be taken seriously and that the problem needs to be resolved fundamentally. Nevertheless, I am sadly seeing that the approach offered is far from taking responsibility.
