Does a Miele Washing Machine Break Down in 6 Years?
I live in Denizli. I bought a Miele washing machine in September 2017. I paid a serious amount of money for this machine, trusting Miele's quality and durability. I called the authorized service on Saturday (16.09.2023) and they told me on Monday (18.09.2023) that the back of the drum had melted and they charged me a service cost of 25,000 TL. On the same day, I opened a complaint file on the company's customer service line. One week later (25.09.2023), Miele Technical Service Center (Mr. Abdullah) came back and attributed the problem to user error and said that they would repair it with a 35% discount as a goodwill gesture. I refused, saying that I would buy a new machine for that amount. My husband and I are educators and we are a small family with a 13-year-old daughter. I would like to ask you, for God's sake, what could have been washed in this family that could have broken the drum in 6 years and this machine has become like this? When I was buying this machine, they sold it to me as "You can give it as a gift to your grandchild" and I preferred Miele because of its durability perception. What has been washed in a machine that has become unusable in 6 years? I do not run a hotel, a machine used 3-4 times a week this one. And at such a high speed so it doesn't damage the clothes. nor at high temperatures. My previous machine was domestic and I used it for 15 years. This problem has led us to the conclusion that these economic conditions and put me in serious trouble. Also, the company's uncaring attitude was very bad. I talked to my lawyer friend, I will pursue my rights until the end of this business.

I received an email from the company Miele. The email stated that they cannot provide any assistance other than a 35% discount as a goodwill gesture. I did not expect this kind of approach from such a company. I think they assume I have to accept the repair at these prices (17,500 TL) because a washing machine is essential at home. I am managing to get my laundry done somehow, but I will pursue this matter further. Next, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. After that, the case may go to court. Let the experts decide whether I have caused the drum to melt or if it is a part defect. Shame on them, look at the state of the country. We have to go to court to solve every problem.
